St. Augustine Catholic Church in Oakland is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented person for the position of Office and Facilities Manager. The position requires both organizational and people skills. Someone who loves the challenge of constant interchange with people will fit well since the Office/Facilities Manager is the first face and voice of the parish for homeless, people in need, visitors, and members. Tactical strengths, a “get-things-done” attitude and the ability to multi task are required. She/he will relish serving staff and parish needs and will show an ability to prioritize and execute. If you thrive on variety, love to learn, if you often find a better method to accomplish tasks and you keep it all organized, you will enjoy this challenge. You will balance predictable daily/weekly tasks (email, database, bulletin production, online calendar), periodic projects (bulk mail, event advertisement), and unexpected events (plumbing disasters). You will manage professional vendors for janitorial services and repairs. Loving to serve people, being a practicing Catholic, having knowledge of facilities, and experience with database and online calendar are essential to the position. Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.

St. Augustine is a small, growing, diverse Catholic parish in Rockridge (Oakland). Great liturgy, preaching and music, hospitality, evangelization, and helping members live their purpose/call through developing their talents are clear aspects of our mission.

Position available immediately. 35 hour per week. Classified S-5 under Diocesan Personnel Guidelines.

Please send resume and a brief description of your reasons for applying, to Karen Miller (Pastoral Associate) at kmm8006@gmail.com or fax to 510-653-4256
