Director of Development, Catholic Schools Consortium, Department of Catholic Schools, Oakland

The Catholic Schools Consortium provides leadership, organization, means, and methodologies to facilitate educational equity and excellence for all students in four urban school communities regardless of social-economic status, race, or creed.

The Catholic Schools Consortium is seeking an enthusiastic, self-starting, detail-oriented person for the position of Development Director. This position requires a team player who is highly organized and possesses excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. The candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of successful grant writing experience and be able to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment.

We are seeking someone who thrives on successful fundraising strategic planning, grant writing, managing and administering specific development activities, marketing public relations, and has familiarity with relevant fundraising software.

The duties and responsibilities of the Development Director include, but are not limited to assisting schools in marketing efforts to increase and maintain enrollment, presenting timely progress reports to constituents and the Executive Director, and creating and implementing specific development activities such as private and public sector grants, corporate and business sponsorships, individual (major donor) and estate donations, pledge systems and annual appeals, fundraising special events, and supporting alumni relations.

Position is available immediately. Classified E-7 under Diocesan Personnel Guidelines.

Director of Development & Communications - St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County, Oakland

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County seeks a Director of Development and Communications to focus on fundraising to assist in supporting SVdP programs. A key tool in that process will be telling our story better, conveying this opportunity to a core constituency and to newcomers. This position is responsible for fund-raising goals established by the Board of Trustees and its related committees, and soliciting funds to meet those goals through appropriate sources approved by the Board of Trustees. This position reports to the organization’s Executive Director. SVdP-Alameda is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year and has a solid core donor base, is blessed with more than 700 county-wide volunteers, and is continually developing innovative outreach programs to better serve the community.

Salary Information: This is a full-time position with benefits. Salary range depends on experience.
